KRUGER SAFARI OR MALARIA FREE SAFARI, GARDEN ROUTE AND CAPE TOWN TOUR
DAY 1 - 3 SAFARI - Arrive in South Africa. Connect to a Lodge of your choice at the Kruger National Park – it will be our pleasure to provide you with information on various options for your choice of Lodge and guide you through your choice according to your criteria. Kruger is renowned for the quality of its Safari experiences - you will be taken on a Morning and Evening Safari and have the opportunity to view a wide variety of wild life (including the famous “Big Five” – the lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino), bird life , flora and fauna.
DAY 4 - Short flight to Johannesburg, Connect to a flight to Port Elizabeth. Your Tour Guide will meet you at the Airport. You will be taken on a guided tour of the 1800 settlers to Port Elizabeth. Overnight in Port Elizabeth. (All accommodations on the Tour are personally chosen by us for their comfort and hospitality and we can discuss options if desired).
DAY 5 - Depart Port Elizabeth for Knysna. Today your Guide will drive to Tsisikamma National Park (also known as the place of many waters). Take a scenic walk to the swing bridge over the Storms River Mouth or if you like adventure then you can go rafting or speed boating. Other things to do in this area – Bungee Jumping, Canopy Zipline Tours, Whale watching and swimming in summer. Drive to Knysna via Plettenberg Bay. Overnight in Knysna.
DAY 6 - KNYSNA - Today we will depart for Oudtshoorn after we have spent the morning in Knysna. We will visit the Heads, Waterfront and the Beach in Knysna. Depart for Oudtshoorn later in the day and drive through the beautiful Wildeness and George Towns. Arrive in Oudtshoorn late afternoon. Book in at a Ostrich Farm Lodge, overnight in Oudshoorn.
DAY 7- OSTRICH TOURS & CANGO CAVES - Today we will visit the Cango Caves with its beautiful Stalimite and Stalitite formations. We will also do an Ostrich Farm Tour where you will learn all about this facsinating and prevalent bird in South Africa and even have an opportunity to try your hand at riding one if you wish! We will then take a beautiful scenic drive to Stellenbosch. We will overnight in Stellenbosch (in the heart of South Africa’s wine country).
DAY 8 - WINE TOUR - Today we will do a Wine Tour which includes 3 wine routes with wine tasting at the Wine Estates in each of these regions, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschoek. We will cover the history and the different wines from these regions and have an opportunity to sample wines if desired. The scenic beauty of the region will also be one of the highlightes of this day. Drive to Cape Town and overnight in Cape Town.
DAY 9 - CAPE PENINSULA AND TABLE MOUNTAIN - We will start the day ( weather permitting) with a visit to Table Mountain. Afterwrads we depart for Hout Bay, Chapmans peak to Cape Point Nature Reserve. We will spend time at the Nature reserve with a visit to the Cape of Good Hope. We will then drive to Boulders Beach to view the African Penguin. We will drive back to Cape Town via Simonstown and overnight there again.
DAY 10 - CULTURAL TOUR INCLUDING ROBBEN ISLAND - Early morning start to the Robben Island Tour which is approximately 3 hrs. This tour includes the boat trip and a tour of the Island and prison where Nelson Mandela and other famous political activists spent so many years before their eventual release to lead the creation of a free democratic South Africa. In the afternoon we will return to the Townships around Cape Town for the Cultural Tour where you will learn about colonization in South Africa, you will be taken on a walking tour with a local tour guide, interact with the locals and see how small business thrives in the Townships.
